NECHPI’s overriding goal is to accelerate the deployment of efficient clean heat and power applications in the Northeast. Without our members, NECHPI’s activities supporting this goal would not be possible. By joining, members support NECHPI’s successful, yet continuing, efforts to create more robust markets for CHP and other DERs through advancing policy that accurately and fairly values these resources. Through NECHPI, members are connected to other CHP advocates in the region and receive critical information regarding the ever-changing policy landscape.
Members help shape NECHPI’s activities through participation in committees and the selection of the Board of Directors. Members also provide critical input on positions that NECHPI takes in important regulatory proceedings. Given the extremely reasonable dues (see below), membership in NECHPI will provide your company or organization with a strong, cost-effective voice to promote your CHP-related goals.
NECHPI often is the sole advocate for the CHP industry. By advocating positions that promote the CHP industry in forums such as state public utility commissions and independent system operators across the Northeast, members benefit from decisions that reflect the expert input provided by NECHPI. These benefits are significant, long-lasting and very cost-effective. In addition, NECHPI members also enjoy a variety of benefits including discounted rates for NECHPI events, member-only communications, and the ability to nominate and vote on members for the Board of Directors and committees.
NECHPI membership is open to any organization or individual that supports the advancement of clean heat and power applications. Our members include large CHP development firms, energy development consultants, non-profit environmental organizations, and utilities.
To become a member of NECHPI, applicants must complete and submit a simple application form. The application is then reviewed and approved by NECHPI’s Board of Directors promptly.
Membership dues begin are $2,000/year for corporate members, and $750 per year for non-corporate members. Dues pay for the administration of the organization as well as the cost of preparing and filing testimony and comments in important, high-impact regulatory proceedings affecting the CHP industry.
Please contact NECHPI’s Executive Director, Kristin Melpignano (executivedirector@nechpi.org) for more information on membership terms, contributing to and participating in NECHPI, and other general inquiries.
